Wireless Home Security Systems

Whatever type of security measures you wish to have in your home, wireless home security systems are the easiest to install. As the name implies, they are wire free, which offers you a much wider choice of location in your home, as you don't need to allow for cabling. It is a great advantage not having to drill walls and woodwork to fit a hard wired system.

The central component of a wireless system - the control panel - still needs to be plugged into a mains power supply but all the other components connect with each other by the wireless technology. They are usually fitted with lithium batteries and these need to be recharged or replaced from time to time.

As with all 'systems' there will be a control panel, which should be ideally located within easy access of the front door, but out of sight of both the door and any windows. The control panel will need to be configured for the various components in the system - motion sensors, window and door sensors, camera, burglar alarm siren and fire alarm siren for example - the choice of which, is yours. Whatever features your system enjoys, you will be able to program them easily using the manufacturers instructions.

Thought must be given to the location of the various components in the security system in order to achieve the best results. They must always be within range of the control unit. Always refer to the advice given by the manufacturer.
